Imagine yourself at a peaceful, sun-drenched, open-air retreat, far from tourists. Imagine being fed three fresh, delicious nourishing meals a day, walks to the beach, an early morning of musing, reading, journaling, coffee, or maybe a drop-in yoga class before breakfast. Imagine an afternoon filled with writing, napping, time to dip in the pool or walk to the ocean and watch the sun set. A night filled with howler monkeys  and stargazing–perhaps a late night visitation from the Muse or luxurious hours of extra sleep lulled by the sounds of the jungle, and you…writing, writing, writing! All creatives need time to retreat. Whether you are a veteran writer or just returning to the page after some time away, making the time to commune deeply with ourselves, to really listen to the profound whispers our work, is an important and necessary counterpoint to our usual daily grind. When you spend time with your Muse in novel, supportive, imagination-inducing spaces that prioritize the creative process, you become more able to access your own deep wisdom and have those special, elusive “a-ha!” moments.
